Oktoberfest is celebrated in German style well in Lincoln Square. Held in October of descendants of early settlers continued the traditional German fall festival. Neighbors ethnic Polish, Swedish and others continue their traditions through stores and local food. If you have the opportunity to visit any of them find to be hospitable and rich in tradition and history.

Museum tours are offered daily packages are available through the Chicago Department of Tourism. The Art Institute of Chicago has an extensive collection of masterpieces, some of artists that are found nowhere else in the world.

The Museum of Science and Industry has OMINMAX a theater, in 1900 a sidewalk display and many interactive exhibits for younger visitors. The Field Museum, which explores the evolution of man and dinosaur skeletons and an underground exhibition of how the land sustains and supports life is a must.

The Chicago Zoological Society has 216 acres of exhibits. A children's zoo, a butterfly garden and a family game zoo are just some of the many activities that await your family.

The Lincoln Park Zoo offers free admission every day. This is one of the parks Zoos popular and visited by tourists and locals alike.

Brookville Zoo, located in the Chicago suburb of Brookville is the installation largest zoo in the Chicago area. These include natural habitats of the 2,500 animals that call the zoo home. Walk through the savannas, forests, deserts and seascapes as you visit with different species living in these areas.

Aquarium John G. Shedd offers one of the exhibits only of a living coral reef. With nearly 600 species of marine life including whales and dolphins a stop at this aquarium is sure to delight everyone.
