* On average it takes 4-6 weeks for the baby to begin to copy the signs back to you so you will have to be patient.

* You must be consistent you are using the same sign, all the time and the Repetition is really the key to success. You must ensure that family members and daycare providers to use the same signals as well. The more baby sees the sign he will respond faster.

* Know the signs of yourself in advance so that you will be prepared for when your baby at the point of something and it looks like you with the face of doubt, you will be able to display the sign immediately.

* Say the word while you make the sign, make sure the baby knows what you are talking about - the point on the object or person or animal, make sure your baby is looking at the same thing.

* Make fun! Use signs of action rhymes and songs, use of signs that reading books, making animal sounds together with the signs, something that engages your baby.

Milk, Food, More

So let's start with the

Milk

To make the sign for milk:

Make fists with both hands and extend your thumbs and little fingers, keep your hands vertically so that their fingers downward little point and thumbs pointing upward. Keep hands in front of your body and alternately move up and down as if milking a cow.

Top Tip: Show your baby a bottle and ask "Do you want your milk 'and then make the sign. Milk saying the word while making the sign a couple of times before and after giving the bottle. If you are breast feeding make the sign before your baby latches on, and if possible while it is feeding.

Eat

To signal to eat:

Take a bunch of your hand and fingers toward your thumb and carry his hand to his mouth and touched her mouth with her fingertips and thumb.

Superior Hint: This sign is for when the baby begins solids. You may ask baby if he is ready for dinner and make the sign of eating, take her to her chair and make the sign as you feed again.
